FAQ
HIRING AN ATTORNEY CAN BE INTIMIDATING AND CONFUSING
Here Are Some Frequently Asked Questions
What Should I Expect from an Attorney
An attorney will plan and direct you through the court process. This includes keeping you aware of the rules and procedures of the court, evidence evaluation, drafting motions, and witness questioning. Attorneys will do their best to represent you and cannot guarantee a certain outcome for a case.
Do I Need a Lawyer?
In general, hiring an attorney will give you the best chances of having the best possible outcome at trial. You’ll want to work with someone representing your best interest, who also knows all of the ins and outs of the law in order to guide you through the process. An attorney will be able to determine the factual and legal defenses that apply to your specific case.
What Do I Need To Bring To the Initial Consulation
Bring all relevant documents with you to the meeting. This will include court date, citation ticket, or any legal notices. The more information you have, the better.
What Does a Plea Bargain Entail?
A plea bargain is negotiated with the prosecutor. This will depend on the law and the facts of your case. Prosecutors will generally not negotiate with defendants who are not represented by an attorney.
